Welcome to Yamadori Sou

Located in Central California, Yamadori Shibas 山採り荘 is a small, dedicated kennel with a passion for education and preservation of the Shiba Inu. Our mission is to not only share this extraordinary breed with others, but also to protect its integrity, health, and unique spirit for generations to come.

As owner-handlers in the American Kennel Club show ring, we personally groom, train, and exhibit our dogs—ensuring hands-on involvement in every aspect of their development. Our breeding program is guided by a strong commitment to the official breed standard, prioritizing health, temperament, and conformation so that every puppy reflects the true essence of the Shiba Inu.

All of our puppies are raised in the home, surrounded by daily care, human touch, and a nurturing environment. We place great emphasis on early socialization—introducing our dogs to people, other dogs, animals, and everyday household experiences. From desensitization to handling and exposure to loud noises, we work diligently to give each puppy a solid foundation for confident, balanced living.
